Communities

• Review the community details
• Complete onboarding questions (if required)
• Submit to join

Note:Some communities require approval. You’ll be notified once an admin reviews your request.

• Channel can be private or public
• Any community member can browse and join the public channel
• Community member needs to be invited to private channel
• Any public channel can be set as default, if it is set as default then community member will automatically join the default channel as soon as they join the community

You’ll need the Create Channel permission.

• Open your community sidebar
• Tap + Add Channel
• Add a name and description
• Set visibility

• Group channels into categories
• Requires channel management permissions

• Join: Go to browse channels and hover over the channel and click on join or you can be added by channel admin to the channel
• Leave: Tap the three dots on channel and select Leave

You can filter by:

• Role
• City
• Job title
• Online status

Options:

• Email invite
• Go to Community home page/ Membership directory/ Manager members→ Invite
• Enter email(s)
• Edit email template (If required)
• Tap Invite
• Bulk invite
• Upload a CSV file
• Share invite link
• Send via Slack, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, etc.

Manage Members:

Manage member by either approve, reject or remove the member from the community

For communities with approval enabled:

• Go to Manage Members
• Review profile and onboarding responses
• Tap Approve (assign role if needed) or Reject

You can also approve multiple requests at once.

Approved members are notified immediately and gain access based on their assigned role. Rejected applicants receive a polite notification without internal notes.

• Add private notes to any member
• Only visible to users with permission
• Useful for tracking context or history

• Go to Manage members
• Go to the member you want to remove
• Tap Remove
• Add reason and click on remove

Access is removed immediately.

• Go to Manage members → Export
• Go to Membership directory - Export
• A CSV is sent to email

Common roles include:

• Creator/Admin — full access
• Member — participate in conversations and events

• Go to Settings → Roles & permissions
• Tap + Add role
• Name the role
• Select permissions

• Edit community details
• Invite or approve members
• Remove members
• Manage roles
• Create/manage channels

• Open a Manage member/ Membership directory
• Go to the person’s profile - community insights - Role information and change the role by using drop down option or in manage member go to Assigned role column and update the role there.

Go to Settings to update - Community information tab:

• Name and URL
• Logo and cover image
• Description
• Guidelines

Control what members see when they enter community home page:

• Add custom sections (links, resources, content)
• Set a welcome message
• Create FAQs
• Add community guidelines

• Add questions for new members
• View responses in member profiles
• Use responses to personalize onboarding

• View all notifications in one place
• Mark individual or all as read
• Mute specific communities or channels

Tip:Unread counts appear on your community icon.

• Lets members reference conversations without switching apps
• Enables AI (Kai) to answer questions using Slack history

• Go to Settings → Connectors tab→ Slack
• Tap Connect
• Authorize access

Yes — there’s no limit. Use the sidebar to switch between them.

• Only members can see content
• Basic details (name, description) appear on invite pages
